What is mania ?
Mania is a condition in which a person becomes extremely obsessed with something. In other words, it is a kind of craze and madness to do some work. Mania is a serious psychiatric disease or say mental illness, in this the person becomes extremely agitated or even violent.
Sign and Symptoms of Mania
There are many symptoms of mania which are as follows
- Energy, activity is very high in such persons.
- Mood changes very quickly.
- Excessive talking, loss of sleep.
- Show hyperactivity towards a task.
- There can be many reasons for mania, the most common reason is bipolar disorder.
It is a mental illness which is also caused by depression and mood swings. In this, the mental condition of the person keeps on changing in two opposite states. After coming in the grip of the disease, it becomes difficult to control the behaviour many times. But if it is treated on time then it is possible to make the situation normal.
Stages of Mania
Stage I – Hypomania
Hypomania (Stage I). The first stage of mania (mania) is hypomania. It is a mild form which is a bit difficult to identify. If a person is suffering from hypomania then it is not easy to identify it by the people around him because these symptoms are very limited. Hypomania affects activity and may lead to increased impulsivity.
Stage II – Acute Mania
The second stage of mania is acute mania. This is the acute form which is easy to identify. If a person is suffering from acute mania, then it is easy to identify it by the people around him because the abnormal symptoms increase to a great extent. People with acute mania have a large increase in energy, loss of sleep, and talk very rapidly, often jumping from one subject to another. Some symptoms of psychosis are also seen in them. Acute mania affects activity and may lead to a greater increase in impulsivity.
Stage III – Delirious Mania
Delirious Mania (Stage III). The third stage of mania (mania) is delirium mania. This is a very intense form which is very easy to identify. If a person is suffering from delirium mania, then it would be very easy to identify it by the people around him because the unusual symptoms increase a lot. People with delirium mania have an extreme increase in energy.
These include temporary confusion, loss of sleep, and rapid talking and decreased ability or inability to connect with reality. Often these people are not even afraid of hurting themselves and others. There are many symptoms of psychosis in them. Delirium mania affects activity and may lead to a greater increase in impulsivity. They need to be admitted in the hospital.
